A brief history.
1967
Dee Gonder starts Ram Tool, beginning a legacy of service done right. With one product line, he started small, but ensured a foundation that could be built big.
1984
Mimi Head, without any prior distribution experience, immersed herself in the operation and began making key investments and leading the company into new territory.
1985
Ram Tool completes its first acquisition of a competitor in Mobile, AL making it a multi-branch operation.
1987
Ram Tool acquires a competitor in Montgomery, AL.
1992-1999
Through both acquisition and opening new locations, Ram Tool expands into Nashville,TN; Huntsville, AL; New Orleans, LA; Atlanta, GA; Pensacola, FL; Memphis, TN; Chattanooga, TN; Dallas,TX and Fort Worth, TX.
1993
Hillery Head, current CEO, joins Ram Tool.
1997
Maye Head joins Ram Tool as VP of Administration.
2001-2008
Ram Tool continues to expand its footprint by opening new locations in Savannah, GA; Houston, TX; Gulfport, MS; and Austin, TX.
2009
Mimi Head retires and Hillery Head becomes CEO of Ram Tool.
2012
Ram Tool acquires Marco Supply, expanding to the following locations: Charleston, SC; Greenville, SC; Columbia, SC; Charlotte, NC; Washington, DC; Richmond, VA; Roanoke, VA; Chesapeake, VA; Charleston, WV. In addition, Ram Tool opens new store in San Antonio, TX.
2013
Ram Tool acquires TCS, expanding to Greensboro, NC and Durham, NC.
2014
Ram Tool acquires Otto Dukes Supply in Corpus Christi, TX; and opens a new location in Oklahoma City, OK.
2015
Ram Tool acquires Jim & Slims Tool Supply and expands to Largo, FL.
2016
Ram Tool promotes Page Naftel from VP of Sales to President and expands into Tampa, FL and Orlando, FL.
2017
Ram Tool celebrates 50 years of serving the construction industry with outstanding service and supplies; Ram Tool also acquires Total Building Supplies and expands into Jacksonville, FL. Ram Tool also expands into the growing world of eCommerce by launching an online catalog and eCommerce platform.
2018
Ram Tool moves into a new corporate location in Birmingham, Alabama; expands into Kentucky by opening a branch in Louisville; expands into Ohio by opening a branch in Cincinnati; and grows in Florida with the addition of a Fort Lauderdale location.
2019
Ram Tool kicks off the new year as it expands into Illinois and opens a new location in Chicago; opens branches in Wilmington, NC and Miami, FL.
2020
Ram Tool opens a new location in Columbus, OH and expands into Michigan and opens a new branch in Detroit.
2021
Ram Tool expands into Indiana and opens a new location in Indianapolis.
White Cap acquires Ram Tool. This acquisition allows for an increase of product selection, services, and locations to enhance customer convenience and experience.
